INTRODUCING AN INNOVATIVE SHOWCASE OF TALENTED NEW DESIGNERS

SMO Gold is proud to be partnering with Jewelry Cast, a new mentoring and consultancy platform founded by Darren Hildrow, the innovator behind virtual jewellery marketplace NouvelleBox.

Created to champion emerging designers through seasoned industry guidance and events, Jewelry Cast’s initial project will be a showcase of works by nine talented makers around the theme of ‘extinction’. Included in the hand-picked group of brilliant artists are renowned London-based designer Castro Smith and Brighton-based Jasmine Ataullah, Central Saint Martins’ graduates Jet McQuiston and Richard Farbey, who creates alongside Joshua Myszczynski, and Elliot Andre, the self-taught designer behind Ex-A Studio.

Each artist has been invited to create two unique pieces in SMO Gold, which will be submitted to the showcase. Smith’s entries include a detailed signet ring bearing momento mori-like symbols alongside diminutive flora and fauna, for which he deployed intricate engraving techniques honed whilst working with metalwork masters in Japan. McQuiston, meanwhile, has submitted an egg-shaped pendant featuring inspiring quotes from artists that have thrived in the face of adversity, inspired by her abiding interest in semiotics and the power of words to influence our thoughts and behaviours. These and many other pieces will be unveiled during a special event at the new Nada Ghazal jewellery boutique in Pont Street, London, on the 27th September 2025.

“Working with SMO Gold enables us to do more than just support emerging designers,” says Darren Hildrow. “It allows us to set a new standard for what responsible, forward-thinking jewellery looks like. Ethical materials should be a baseline, not a luxury. SMO Gold understands that, and their commitment has helped turn vision into reality.”
