SMO GOLD ANNOUNCEMENT
A NEW FOUNDATION
Single Mine Origin (SMO) Gold is proud to announce the launch of the SMO Foundation, a new philanthropic initiative to support mining communities. Its aim? To collaborate with charities to elevate environmental conservation, social equity, healthcare access and community engagement within its member regions – funded by donations from individuals, organisations or businesses.
Its first three charity partnerships will be with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Critical Care International (CCI) and Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA).

Founded in 1948, the IUCN is the world’s largest and most diverse environmentally focussed network.
Over 1,400 member organisations and 17,000 experts contribute their knowledge, resources and expertise, making it the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.

Meanwhile, CCI is a medical services company that provides high quality healthcare in remote or high-risk environments all over the globe.
These include emergency response training, staffing for inaccessible sites, medical evacuation and occupational health and hygiene services, amongst others.

Lastly, LCA initiates conservation-led socio-economic development in Africa, by influencing, accelerating and protecting the biodiversity of rainforests and selected ecosystems, including parks and reserves, in the sub-Saharan region.
Since its initiation in 2006, it has been actively involved projects across in 16 African countries, including the Nouabalé Ndoki National Park in the Congo, Senegal’s Niokolo Koba National Park and the Friend-A-Gorilla programme in Uganda.
GET INVOLVED
By supporting and championing the work of these movements, the SMO Foundation hopes to make a positive and lasting difference to their operations, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future for everyone.
